Favorite referencing style

Harvard, simply because it's the one I'm most accustomed to through my studies.

Why I became an editor

I have worked as an editor in various blogs and websites since 2017.

During the course of my PhD, I was regularly editing and proofreading the work of friends and other academics, as well as serving as an academic reviewer for a range of journals.

This is by far the most engaging job I have ever had, and I decided to follow it professionally.

Background and experience

Published writer with ROARmag and Bella Caledonia.

Forthcoming book deal for the publication of my PhD.

Chief editor for Interregnum.live from 2017-2020.

Various instances of piecework on websites from 2017-2021

Why I love proofreading and editing

I love reading and writing and particularly enjoy helping to emphasize the beauty and substance already contained in each text. This enjoyment becomes accentuated when the text actually interests me: I feel that I am embarking on an adventure with the client, each doing their own part to bring something substantial into the world. Editing and proofreading are therefore by far the most engaging jobs I've ever had.

Favorite book:

One hundred years of solitude, by Marquez

Hobbies:

When I'm not proofreading, I am most likely writing, making music or just chilling with friends enjoying life.

Editing tips:

Read the document a couple of times to understand the voice and the message it's trying to convey. Then try to make it as readable as possible without changing the author's voice. I try to keep my interventions to a minimum.
